The Great Pumpkin Patch

It’s a Fall Festival Full of Fun at The Great Pumpkin Patch just south of Arthur IL. It features over 300 varieties of pumpkins, squash and gourds from over 30 countries around the world, all grown on the farm. There are mazes, gardens, animals and over 5,000 hardy mums. There are several places to eat and drink on the farm and entertainment on the weekends. It is located at: 1749 A CR 1900 N, Arthur IL. Two miles south and ½ mile west of the village of Arthur. Open September - October.

Flesor's Candy Kitchen

Nothing tastes better in the fall but a Candy Apple from Flesor’s Candy Kitchen in Tuscola! Stop in at 101 W Sale Street in downtown Tuscola. Be sure to check out the breakfast/lunch menu, their hand dipped chocolates and a drink from an old-fashioned soda fountain.

Buxton's Garden

Looking for a variety of activities for you and your family? Come to Buxton’s Garden Farm & Flower Shop located at 1489 CR 725E, Sullivan Il. They carry seasonal fruits and vegetables, over 60 varieties of Mums, several types of pumpkins and much more. They have amazing activities such as hayrides, the Jump-Jump (an inflatable bouncy pillow), or wind your way through the amazing Buxton’s Corn Maize. Don’t forget to get yourself some Apple Cider and apple/pumpkin butter.

Aikman's Wildlife

Have you ever wanted to go on a Safari? Look no further, Aikman’s Wildlife Adventure located at 125 N Co Rd 425E, Arcola, is the place to be. You can drive your vehicle through a mile-long path through the sanctuary where you can see animals of all kinds right from your car. Afterward you can visit a Petting Zoo and stroll through the rest of the park. Other adventures also available are the walk thru adventure, wagon tour adventure and a behind the scene’s adventure. A great time for the entire family!

Okaw Valley Orchard

Enjoy a quiet outdoor country setting at Okaw Valley Orchard located at 724 CR 1750 N, Sullivan IL. Begin at the Gift Shop and check out all their bakery items, jams, specialty items and apple cider & slushies. From there you can walk the orchards and pick your own farm fruit. They offer several varieties of peaches, apples, and a few varieties of pears, nectarines and plums. For your sweet tooth, check out the bakery in the gift shop. Relax at the picnic area and enjoy the country air while the children enjoy the playgrounds.

Pumpkin House

The Annual Arthur Pumpkin House at 235 S Vine Street in Arthur IL will be on display the last week of October. There will be nearly 300 pumpkins that will be carved by school children, business people and various volunteers from Arthur and surrounding communities. The pumpkins come from The Great Pumpkin Patch and other area sources. The Pumpkins will be lit nightly during the last week of October.

Twelve brightly illustrated oversized brooms are about to be scattered around historic downtown Arcola. Reminiscent of Chicago's painted cows of a few years ago, Arcola has adopted the slogan, "Come see our Sweeping Beauties" to entice the public to come see our whimsically themed brooms designed and executed by talented artists.
